I cant help laughing at the recent comments made by our beloved One Malaysia PM. He says that there will be zero tolerance to racist remarks being made by anyone. Seriously Sir where have you been? I suggest that you take a recent copy of Utusan Malaysia and read it out aloud at some One Malaysia function that you regularly attend these days. Lets see if everyone agrees with your recent statement then!

Perhaps Sir you may have also not heard and seen this chap by the name of Ibrahim Ali and his Perkasa chaps making statements lately. Perhaps you had been too busy lately to notice the many others that continue to make racist remarks and get away with it. If I remember correctly wasnt it one of your aides that was accused of making racist remarks at a One Malaysia function in Melaka recently? Was there Zero tolerance then? Was he charged with any offence to illustrate how your government tolerates zero tolerance to such people?

I say if there is zero tolerance than it should ACTUALLY BE ZERO TOLERANCE! It should be applicable across the board. No two ways about it. Our country can ill afford having racist clowns running down the country side fanning hatred and racist ideals in a country like ours.

There is a new joker in town who is masquerading as the new Transport Minister. This is what he is supposed to have said yesterday. I quote from the Malaysian Insider " Newly-appointed Transport Minister Datuk Seri Kong Cho Ha today said the previous investigation into the Port Klang Free Zone (PKFZ) issue was sufficient, thus further investigation into it was not necessary.
However, he said, he would take time to study the issue to understand all about the scandal.
“I think (we have) enough of the investigation, enough of all the study. All had been done on this issue so I don’t think there is any need for further re-look into it,” he told reporters when asked to comment on the issue.

Hello Minister we still don't know the who, what and how yet! There is much to do. Anyway since you had already decided not to investigate then why do you need to take time to study the issue to understand all about the scandal?

Well it appears that having intelligence is not one of the pre conditions to being appointed as a Minister in this country!

Welcome to the latest Bolehland news. According to the mainstream media reports, our beloved 1Malaysia PM has said that the sports betting licence has yet to be issued. What has been informed to the public thus far is that there are only plans for sports betting and the government is awaiting for public views and feedback. What nonsense! By all accounts there is a certain Tan Sri who had announced that his company had been issued a sports betting licence. Now PM say "belum lagi"!. Which is which now?

That Tan Sri chap has also announced that he will donate RM525 million to charity from the proceeds of his sports betting. Ha-ha! What a joke this is turning out to be! Absolute nonsense again. First I take your money away by the lure of instant riches....then I try to help you when you try to commit suicide after being made penniless by me. Ok what.... You help me and I help you!

Only happens in Bolehland I guess.

Ahh...I am so sweet! Cabinet reshufle can include me ah?

What a cabinet we Malaysians have these days. Many are not even elected by the people! Many in the cabinet announced by our beloved One Malaysia PM had actually lost in the GE of 2008. Malaysia being land of "mesti boleh" must find a way to accommodate and "cari jalan". Aiyah where got problem one....simply make them losers all senators loh! No problem what?

Another method employed in making Cabinet reshuffles Malaysian style is this. First get rid of OTK because he is causing too much problem for us because of PKFZ. Then bring in one of the suspects alleged to have been part of the PKFZ fiasco and make him a minister. Simple what. Solve all the problem what?

Who cares what the Rakyat thinks?

The nation is going bankrupt?

Is this what is going to happen to Malaysia? If so why?

I have been reading as to how Malaysia is going to be reduced to a bankrupt nation in a few years time. I don't know about you guys the first impression I get from all this is "Why?" Are we not a nation that is blessed with resources? Why then are we going bankrupt?

A government minister says it is all due to subsidies. We Malaysians are a spoilt lot he says. Everything also got subsidy he says. We must reduce these subsidies and then we will be able to balance our books again!

Look I am no economist but I think that is pure hogwash! Look the truth is this. This nation of ours is going bankrupt because we Malaysians are having incompetent and irresponsible people manning the coffers! There are too many financial scandals that have plagued Malaysia time and again. The PKFZ is one such fiasco. Just how many billions in that scandal? What about our submarines that cannot dive. How much did it cost? I think for now this two illustrations are enough. You get the picture. And I wont even go in to the "buy elections" that appears to be the craze at the moment. This "I help u, U help me" mentality is the main reason why this nation of ours is going bust.

A bleak future awaits us Malaysians if we don't do the right thing. The right thing would be to stand up and demand that the government is held accountable for all its actions. One way to do this would be to vote! So exercise your right and vote wisely the next time!

I don't know about you ...... but i am against it. To me there are enough avenues for those that want to indulge in this "extra curricular" activity. Every week ada Magnum, Kuda, Toto and lottery draws and if still tak puas you can also go to Genting where you can gamble till you drop 24/7.

Some say that Malaysia being an Islamic nation is the pride of all other Islamic nations. I don't know about you guys lah but the last time I checked gambling was still not permitted in that religion. Now where are the two clowns that usually champion this religion in the past? Ya you know who I mean....that fella lah wearing that skull cap...whats his name Zul N? And just where is that other champion Ibrahim A?

Why don't you two chaps go and storm the PM's office and demand that this nonsense be stopped? If I remember correctly that Zul N even stormed the Bar Council building previously on the pretext of protecting Islam. Why are you champions now so quiet?

Whither human rights?

Words cant describe the feeling I have when I got wind that the Federal Court in its infinite wisdom had decided that it was ok for the MACC to "interrogate witnesses" after office hours. I must confess that I have yet to view the actual judgement pesently. I am just goin by way of media reports.

Having said that it is my humble view that the Federal Court is wrong on this score. There are so much abuses and frailties in the present system. Again in my view there are numerous weaknesses in the present system of "interrogation" of witnesses/suspects/accused persons, be it by the police or the MACC. It is my view that all the safeguards against human rights abuses must be put in place first and all weaknesses ironed out before the such powers are to be given to institutions like the MACC. The system must be fail proof to ensure that there would not be a repeat of cases like the untimely death of Teoh Beng Hock.

Was it suicide? Was he pushed? .........Ahhh so many questions! We are no where near the truth today then the day Teoh died. Simply mind boggling!

Anyway, in my book the present Federal Court ruling makes no sense from a human rights perspective, bearing in mind the weaknesses in the system presently.

Sad today.

Its happened again. Another MP has jumped or rather abandoned ship. These sort of MPs are traitors and nothing more. They are traitors because they had betrayed the thousands that had voted them into office. They betrayed the trust and confidence of all the people that had voted for them. All the lame excuses they come up with now like..."I no longer have confidence in the party" is absolute rubbish. The people had voted the party and not you personally lah brother. Why are some people so thick faced?

The Rakyat voted the opposition so that there would be check and balances done on the reigning government. All this nonsense of being "independent" is just pure bollocks. You are either here or there. To say neither now after being voted in is just plain despicable. Shame on all of you "frogs"! Shame on you!

Just reading the news these days make so sick. That sodomy trial is just plain ****! I got this off the net regarding this silly trial. I quote some really mind blowing excerpts:-

Then the badminton squad. True to the Malaysia Boleh spirit the Thomas cup squad lost with a pathetic whimper at the hands of lowly Japan!

Then you have the cops refusing to apologise to the family of the 15 year old boy who was shot dead. Now they say the family should apologise to the cops for allowing the boy to drive at night without licence! Duh.....! Hello the issue is "tembak". Why do you have this shoot policy in the first place? It was not as if the boy was also armed with a gun and shooting first at you! Shooting an unarmed boy is just plain stupid and the attempt at trying to paint the deceased as a criminal is also plain stupid!

I got this over the net. It appears someone or some people put an advertisement in the New York Times as appearing above. If this is true then the Federal Constitution is wrong! The last time I checked it was as follows :-

Article 32 of the Federal Constitution of Malaysia says:
1. (1) There shall be a Supreme Head of the Federation, to be called the Yang di-Pertuan Agong, who shall take precedence over all persons in the Federation and shall not be liable to any proceedings whatsoever in any court.
2. (2) The Consort of the Yang di-Pertuan Agong (to be called the Raja Permaisuri Agong) shall take precedence next after the Yang di-Pertuan Agong over all other persons in the Federation.

In short, Article 32.2(2) of the Constitution means that the Raja Permaisuri Agong is the First Lady of Malaysia.

Could his death been avoided?

I am astounded by the silly remarks that the soon to be retiring IGP is quoted to be saying in the mass media today! If I read him correctly we the general public should just keep our mouths shut and not express any views on this sad case. But why Sir? I don't get it! We the members of the general public genuinely feel outraged by this poor boy's death. To state " If people do not want the law to be enforced, then I shall instruct my men to refrain from stopping cars or from illegal racers". I wonder just how this man was ever promoted to be the IGP in the first place!

Boss....There are so many questions and very few answers. Why the need for the police to shoot? Were there no other alternatives to subdue the boy? Is there truth amongst some conspiracy theorists that the police these days just simply don't care and that there is a policy that dictates shoot first and ask questions later?

And every time some thing like this happens the powers that be would come out with utter nonsense by stating " Kita akan siasat semua. Kita tak sebunyikan apa-apa! Biar pihak polis siasat dulu perkara ini "

Tell you what..... I am sick and tired of hearing nonsense like this. The police stands accused of a wrongful act and what happens? The police is "siasating" This is simply devoid of any logical sense. Simply absurd I dare say.

What is needed in the circumstances is for an independent body to investigate the matter and to resolve the matter expeditiously in an unbiased and professional manner. We don't need and simply do not want the police to investigate its own members.

I read that the genius of a man i.e the most honorable Datuk Seri Lajim Ukin (Deputy Minister of Housing and Local Government) had said that local government elections had been rejected by the BN government because it will cause "a racial imbalance"! He had further added that "most non muslims live in the cities while the Bumiputras are in the outskirts" Hmmmmm............

What logic! I wish I could respond by shouting out loud "1Malaysia my foot!" But you and I know that I wont. I cant do that and I wont say that! That would not be very polite. And I dont wish to be rude. No Sir!

Why do I fear that the 1Malaysian Formula 1 team is just another excuse to burn money?

Is it just me or did you also go...what? Formula 1? Haven't they learnt their lessons yet? What is with these people any way? What is with the craze for the "biggest, tallest, first" and what other what have you not. Incredible I say.

At a time when the giants in the motor industry having pulled out like Honda and even BMW which is scheduled to withdraw at the end of the present race season, the decision by Malaysia seems simply incredulous to me. Absurd even. It is one thing to host a formula one race but to compete in one? Didn't we learn anything from the past? Remember Alex Choong, Petronas/Sauber and Magnum?

Anyway the other thing that really got my undies in a twist was the fact that the former MB from Selangor was supposedly "grilled" for a few hours by the MACC. I say big deal. My immediate thoughts were why didn't they question him during the hours of 7pm till lets say 3.45 am? Did they take away his handphone away? Did they say no lawyers allowed?

Anyway why the lack of "urgency" as in some other cases investigated by the MACC? Maybe the MACC will say here "this one different lah". The other case that person was a witness, here this person is a suspect. Don't ask me the difference and who makes the distinction and what procedures are put in place to determine "urgency".

On the issue of garlanding anyone with shoes or slippers.....I say if the shoe fits then wear it!

Why have I not been writing?

Sick to my bones....that's why!

I have to confess that I have been feeling rather lazy these days. There have been many times where I had switched on my PC and logged on to this blog....just to go on doing something else instead! There had been many times in the past where I had the passionate urge to write a post on this blog but then decided otherwise for some strange reason. Just so weird!

Maybe it is a kind of sickness? I don't know. Just very strange! An example....I was compelled to write about how I felt when the "cow head" incident happened...yet I didn't. So weird...I wonder why?

Then i realised the problem. I was just getting sick and tired of the shenanigans that go on daily in this country. I am so sick these days that I just don't feel like writing any more. The powers that be are not listening."They" couldn't care less. In fact I fear that "they" are genuinely not interested in wanting to see a better Malaysia come about.

So what's the point in writing? Hmmm..................

There is this chap who happens to be the backbenchers' club president saying he gave one minister and current MCA president RM10 Million. Wah.....! Money cash... woh! 3 payments woh! So how now?

In Selangor allocations of about RM 2,000 can bring the MACC to investigate you. Now got allegations of RMN10 million how? Got MACC probe or not? Why the MACC so quiet one ah?

Mr 1 Malaysia says Selangor I want you!

Oh dear...why do i fear that the state of Selangor is soon going down the way Perak did? Maybe because it is due to the statements our beloved PM 1 Malaysia made recently that Selangor is coveted by him.

Remember how the PM was grinning from ear to ear when the 3 frogs were playing musical chairs in Perak? Is this too the fate of Selangor in the near future? Hmmm.....I wonder!

Anyway I am concerned about the issue of selling beer in Selangor that is blowing out of proportion these days. Didn't the previous BN state government also allow the sale of beer in Selangor before? I don't recall a fuss being kicked about as a result of this. It is so weird! I would have thought that the "people that always care" for others would want to eradicate the abuse of drugs and incest/rape in Selangor first. But no ....it appears that beer is public enemy number one in Selangor for now.

The new 1 Malaysia brand of journalism?

I have not been writing for a while now. I am caught up with so many things that the juices don't quite flow to spur me to write. Maybe growing old also lah!

Anyway I just had to write about the UMNO owned newspaper known to all as Utusan Malaysia. It is simply amazing how this newspaper is still being allowed to publish. The vile and venom it publishes is pure rubbish in the plural Malaysian society context. The style of "journalism" promoted by this newspaper smacks nothing more than being mere racist. It is a racist paper. Its editors and journalists responsible for producing the garbage that it calls "social commentaries" are nothing more than racists.

I quote an example of its brand of journalism " Orang Melayu, Raja-Raja Melayu dan Kumpulan Utusan Melayu yang selama ini sangat bersabar dan sentiasa sangat berhati-hati menjaga hati orang Cina dan India, sudah tidak boleh tahan lagi."

Another example would be "Akan tetapi semua seruan dan amaran hanya tinggal dalam lipatan akhbar Utusan Malaysia sahaja. Orang Melayu tidak bangun bangun juga. Pertubuhan Melayu - yang lama dan baru - hanya sekadar mengeluarkan kenyataan marah-marah dan membuat laporan polis sahaja. GAPENA yang menganjurkan Kongres Perpaduan Melayu yang sangat besar dan penuh bersemangat pun, sampai sekarang tidak nampak sebarang tindakan. Pemimpin Umno, termasuk Pemuda pun sekadar mengeluarkan kenyataan dan amaran sahaja.

I am not putting any more examples here. Its so repulsive.

Maybe this is what our PM Najib is talking about when he goes around saying "1 Malaysia". I call it a JOKE!

Wont you ever Shut Up?

Why cant he just shut up?

At a time when there are certain quarters trying to make the Teoh's death a racial issue it doesn't help when a certain ex PM makes ludicrous statements to make matters worse. Who am I talking about? Yalah That old man Mahathir lah...who else?

Now he seems to be of the opinion that the Non Malays are the "true masters" of this country. This man appears to have some strange fixation on "race" matters. He appears to think that only the Malays are still lagging far behind in the economic pie of the country. He says by opening the market the Malays would be lagging even further behind. He goes on and on in a logic so warped that it appears to make sense only to him.

Boss....if you dont know already...poverty and hunger knows not how to discriminate. It affects all "races". I say government aid must be given to all "races". Aid and assistance should never be given purely on one's so called race.

My dear sir I think it would be better if you go to India and study "ancestry and lineage".

Isn't it just weird? A Royal Commission of inquiry to enquire MACC's investigative procedures stemming from Teoh Beng Hock's death and at the same time have a death inquest into the political aide's death. I tell you why its so weird.

1) The terms of reference for the RC do not make any sense for it only is only going to be looking at the investigative procedures of the MACC.

2) Whilst the death inquest set up for next week is to inquire into how and why Teoh died.

Wouldn't it be easier for all parties if the RC to be set up incorporates the death of Teoh as part of its terms of reference? The witnesses would all be the same wouldn't they? Documents chances are would be the same and even the investigations into the case certainly must be the same...so why the duplicity? Wouldn't it also be saving precious time and costs if just one party i.e just the RC conducts the inquiry?

The inquest is also not a very good idea because chances are the magistrate sitting as a coroner in the inquest would be a junior officer with only a few years experience. Would the intense public interest generated by the inquest be too much for such a junior officer to handle? Would he/she be overwhelmed by the occasion and the personalities that are to appear before him/her? Would there be undue pressure to "toe the line"?

I don't know about you but I am certainly convinced that this latest measure by the government is the wrong way to resolve this most delicate matter. Public confidence in the institutions of government is at an all time low. To me the measures taken by the government is just not going to make matters any better.

Anyway since when is the RC of any real use anyways? Remember what happened after a RC was set to inquire into the police force? Yup....nothing happened. The recommendations of the RC then was shelved by the government. What happened after the RC inquiring into the Lingam tapes? Yup....Nothing again.

So what guarantee do we Malaysians have that things would be different this time around?

Who is being racist here?

I read that a certain newspaper had written these remarks in its daily. I am also reliably informed that the newspaper concerned belongs to UMNO. In fact it is said that the newspaper is the mouthpiece of the said party.

The said newspaper wrote “Bukan orang Cina atau penyokong Pakatan Rakyat saja yang tahu marah dan mahukan keadilan”.

“Kenapa Menteri Besar Selangor, seorang Melayu, meragui kebolehan orang sebangsanya bertindak dengan tulus dan adil?
Bukankah banyak pegawai agensi atau institusi kerajaan orang Melayu? Adakah polis, hakim, guru, penyiasat, doktor, pensyarah Melayu semuanya tidak boleh dipercayai?”

Our good friend, Minister Nazri has been telling everyone to stop making "racist" remarks with regards Teoh's death in the MACC building. Would he now tell the newspaper that belongs to UMNO to shut up as well?

Idiots! This is about a Malaysian citizen who died. Period! There is nothing racial about it at all. We all demand the truth. We all demand to know what happened to Teoh. For if a mere witness like Teoh can be interrogated until the wee hours of the morning and end up dead, don't we all need to be worried?

Royal commission a waste of time?

I have been reading about how many quarters are clamouring for the setting of a Royal Commission of enquiry to enquire into the death of Teoh Beng Hock. The politicians from both sets of the divide have been asking for it. The family of the deceased and even the average Ah Seng, Raju and Ali is asking for such an enquiry to be set up.

I have to say that I am of the view that such an enquiry would be simply a waste of time. Now you must be thinking that I have gone off my rockers right? The simple truth is this, past events had shown us in clear and no uncertain terms that such an enquiry conducted by a Royal Commission is pure hog wash and a waste of time. Nothing comes out of it. Don't believe me? Let me explain then.

I recall how all we lawyers were up in arms and took to the streets of Putrajaya trying to push for the setting of such a Royal Commission into the Lingam "correct, correct, correct" tapes. In fact on that day in the month of September I remember shouting my voice hoarse demanding for such an enquiry to be set up by the BN government. My friends and I must have shouted/screamed a tad too loud for even mother was moved to let loose on that day. She quite literally poured down her "tears" on that historic day. But that didn't dampen our spirits, in fact it strengthened our resolve to persevere in our demands for such a Royal enquiry to be initiated. And how we were elated when later the government acceded to the demands and decided to call for such an enquiry.

Alas! After all the hype and publicity the Royal Commission generated whilst the enquiry was going on (we were genuinely hopeful that there would be some form of honest closure to the sordid affair) it was rather sad to note that to date there has been no genuine effort taken by the BN government to ensure all those implicated in the "Lingam tapes" affair would be brought to book. In fact to date there has been not a single prosecution instituted against any individual with regards this matter despite the findings of the Royal Commission.

So....at this juncture I ask...What is the point? What guarantee do we Malaysians have that justice would be upheld after such an enquiry is held into Teoh's death? What guarantee does the family of the deceased have that the guilty (if any) would be held accountable after such an enquiry?

Teoh later.WHY?

I am totally numbed by anger and disbelief at yet another case of suspicious death in the hands of the authorities. If normally it is the boys in blue that stands accused of having a hand in such suspicious deaths, today it is the MACC.

The MACC is the re branded/refurbished version of the old ACA. This re branding exercise was to have instilled confidence and belief in the people that corruption would finally be eradicated in the land of Boleh. Sadly recent events gives the impression that the powers in the MACC are only to be used against certain individuals/parties that do not belong to the BN government. The recent investigations into how the disbursements of state allocations in Selangor are conducted is one such example. The public impression is that the MACC only investigates officials from the opposition led states. How then does one explain the lack of such intitiatives in the states of Perak , Melaka and Sarawak?

How then can one explain the case of one former Menteri Besar who despite having publicly admitted to having an opulent and lavish house not being treated the same way it had been treating people who do not belong to the BN coalition? I also recall how a certain state assemblyman having spent RM500,000.00 of state allocations in a few weeks did not have the same treatment as well? What about the recent UMNO elections wherein despite the said party's disciplinary board finding certain individuals guilty of money politics were also not given the same treatment? What about our DPM promising the people of Manek Urai a brand new bridge if they voted for the BN in the recent by elections there? Surely that cant be seen as not being tantamount to corrupt practices? Despite there being reports made to the MACC, did they even bother to investigate?

Supposing the MACC did investigate...did the MACC call the people mentioned above to come to the MACC offices at about 5 pm in the evening for their statements to be taken down? Did the MACC then continue taking "statements" from these people until say 3.45 AM? For as the MACC says it has to complete taking down statements within 24 hours! Would the MACC also deny these people "who are very important witnesses" the right to have legal representation during questioning?

Why would someone in the prime of his youth, looking forward to his marriage in two days time would even want to consider jumping off a building? I don't know about you, but the moment I am told that I can leave, I would surely leave. I would also be making frantic calls to my loved ones that I am coming home to allay any unnecessary worry. The last thing I would want to do would be to request the MACC for accommodation for the night i.e on the eve of my wedding day!

Something in this story just doesn't add up. I also don't like the way the police is saying that there is no foul play at this moment. The cops say that at the moment that there are" no suspicious circumstances" into the death to believe otherwise!

I am just lost for words at this point. I shed tears for this country. What is happening to us?

It is amazing! The Minister in the PM's office ie. one Datuk Seri Nazri has called the former PM , former AG and IGP.....all crooks! Yes you read that correctly! The learned Minister has labelled these people as nothing more than "crooks" who had forgotten that they used to serve and defend the administration. Read all about it in the NST at page 13.

"Now these are all crooks" Minister Nazri says.

The former AG got it really bad I think of the lot from Nazri. He says this of the former AG "As a former AG , he had prosecuted people in the past and he is one person who should know the law". He commented that elections should be called. It is none of his business especially at a time when the court was trying to decide on this." Minister Nazri was responding to remarks made by the former AG regarding the Perak constitutional crisis.

I like this Minister Nazri. He is a genius!

100 days of what?

Sorry I dont like the new........ermmmmm..... can change ah? Got refund ah?

The past few days the main stream media were like sharks circling a potential prey. It was simply relentless. Everyday 100 days of this and 100 glorious days of that. I don't get it lah! What is with this 100 days crap? What has been so wonderful the past 100 days that I have to jump with joy and say thank god I have that "person" in office helming the nation?

I don't get it! It is absolute hog wash I tell you.

To me after !00 days I see the following:

a) The Altantuya murder still classified as an unsolved mystery in my books;

b) The PKFZ fiasco that caused billions of tax dollars- still no one responsible brought to book;

c) The "Now BM, change to English, then back to BM" education policy;

d) The cases of dead bodies being "snatched" from bereaving families on the grounds of religion;

e) "It is not our problem..we cant set a precedent" remarks made in the Kampung Buah Pala land fiasco ;

f) The Perak constitutional crisis. Just cant forget how the pictures of the "independent" frogs all so happy posing for the media with you know who.

I want to write some more but I am just so repulsed at the moment. The list is quite long actually. So go on, beat your drums and thump your chests. Shout "100 wonderful days" for all I care.

As far as I am concerned .........big deal....la da dee la da du!

What another U turn? What you speaka no the english?

It is simply shocking! The cabinet decision making a U turn on English being used to teach Maths and Science is absurd. I really feel for the kids,parents and their teachers. It is going to be very confusing yet again in Bolehland.

I must confess that I was very happy when English was chosen to be the medium in all schools for the two subjects. This is one policy by the former PM Mahathir that I truly supported. Face it, without a strong command of the English language we are going to be left far behind. The world is developing at such a "formula one" pace that it would be virtually impossible if we are going to now retreat under our coconut shells! The new age is here. Speed is everything. And the fact is almostl everything is in English. How are we going to cope if we are not going to be well versed in the language that is the de facto lingua franca of the world?

The new Education Minister said that the old man Mahathir was consulted and gave his blessings. Strangely the old man says he is flabbergasted by the U turn made. I wonder if the parents, teachers and students were really consulted before this U turn was made?

Anyway all I know is that there are definitely some people who are very pleased with the decision. Think about how much money the people who supply books, teaching materials, computers and the like are going to make from this reversal in policy! I think the figure would be in the billions! Teachers have to be retrained and in fact just about everything has to be revamped. At the end of the day it is all a question of dollars and cents. Hard earned tax dollars wasted the last few years and more hard earned tax money to waste with this reversal.

You say I am upset? No lah..........I am pissed mad!

Compassion......where art thee?

This morning I had to go the University Hospital to serve a subpoena and talk to the witness concerned. The witness is a doctor in the said hospital and worked in the psychiatric department. Getting to the hospital was not a problem. But parking the car in the hospital grounds was a total nightmare. After about some 45 minutes I finally got to park my car on the 6th floor. To those who dont know this is the highest floor at the car park. The car park was filled to the brim with people parking hap hazardly everywhere.

After asking for some directions, my friend and I made way to the psychiatric clinic located at the first floor. To go up we took the lift located near some out patient clinic. The place was also packed like sardines. When the lift door rang, I was elated thinking I would be escaping the chaotic situation. All that elation disappeared into thin air when I saw the lift. It was so small at most it would be able to accommodate 4 persons. I was glad that the only other person waiting for the lift was a disabled person in a battery powered wheel chair.

The door closed and I was only too glad to make my way out when the lift stopped at the first floor. You could say I even made a slight dash to escape the lift. My friend followed behind. Then we saw that the guy in the wheelchair was stuck. He had entered the lift in reverse and therefore had difficulty reversing out! My friend Patrick the kind soul he is, quickly assisted by pulling the wheelchair out. There was only so much room in that lift that the wheel chair was stuck in trying to get out!

When we finally reached the psychiatric clinic....I almost fainted! There were so any people there. The clinic was practically filled to the brim. You can say that it was totally opposite as to what I had anticipated. How on earth any patient is going to get better in that environment? What kind of mental care can the doctors give to patients in an environment like this? I was there only for 15 minutes and already I had felt so stressed up!

Surely the powers that be cant be blind and ignorant as to the conditions at the hospital?

Oh dear.....I cant help but feeling very sorry for all those people there. I was counting my blessings that I need not have to go there for treatment.

I cant imagine that a country like ours,that boasts Formula one races and the twin towers cannot build a hospital that can accommodate the needs of a growing nation! Simply shocking!

Sometimes we lose our way! Good directions are hard to come be these days!

The ongoing land issues highlighted in the media regarding the Kampung Buah Pala in Penang is distressful indeed. Here the plight of the residents are obvious. They claim that they have been staying on the land for generations. They also claim that they had toiled in the past, contributing to make Penang to what it is today. The residents also claim that there is significant cultural heritage in the land itself albeit being the first Indian settlement on Penang island.

Sad isn't it? The land that they had known as home for generations is taken away in the name of "progress". The residents had lost their court battles and are now appealing to the powers that be to help them. The state government says it cant help because it hasn't got the financial resources to compulsorily acquire the land. They say it is the fault of the previous BN government that was to blame for having done shady deals regarding the land. The previous state government has lot to explain in this matter I think. This what the Ex CM said on this issue......“When they (the current Penang state government) can’t do something, they will blame either the previous state or Federal Government. That is the trick of their trade”, Tsu Koon said.

Maybe Tsu Koon should try stand up comedy.....u very funnylah!

The Federal Government under the able stewardship of the PM One Malaysia Najib says "Emm.....sorry boys and girls. Ain't my problem. It is a state problem. We cant help because it will set a bad precedent! "

So how now? The courts no more hope. The State says no money. The Federal government says sorry not my problem mate!

Hmmm....How will it ever end?

I have to confess that I had outgrown MJ's music a long time ago. In fact to be honest, I cant bother to listen to his songs these days. Maybe I was disturbed with all the controversies surrounding him in his later years...I don't knowlah. Anyway the other day my wife bought a DVD of MJ's live concert. She said that the boys need to see how great MJ was as a performer. I just laughed and scoffed at her. As a matter of fact I couldn't even bear sitting through the DVD. Mind you this was just a few weeks before the news of MJ's death.

Now upon reflection....... I believe that I owe you Mike. You gave me a lot of "musical pleasure" when I was growing up. Your songs from the album "thriller" was a real killer man. Your songs and dance moves had somewhat inspired me then. Ha-ha! I remember trying to get the signals from the Singapore radio channel on my small transistor radio so that I could listen to your songs. Back then no money to buy your albumlah! Ha-ha!!! (I later got a RM3 copy from the pasar malam)

The newly minted Home Minister thinks that he should "revisit" and "retrace the steps" to see if the recommendations by the Royal Commission on the boys in blue had been carried out; and if yes, did it have an impact?

But guess what... our no.2 in the boys in blue has said this in response " All implemented what! All ok. Now no problem. Semua settled what!". This is how I have interpreted his response as reported in the papers today, to the comment by the learned Minister.

I say enough of the pussyfooting! It is time the Independent Commission (IPCMC) is set up without any more excuses. The need is undeniable and and most warranted. Enough of the abuses and the excesses.

The past few days the mainstream media was on a blitz on Najib's trip to China. To me ....big deal lah! What is in it for us Malaysians anyway? I don't get it lah....! Maybe I am naive and not so learned in the ways of the world. What do I know right?

Anyway this is my take on this whole China "trip" business.

1) What's with the "my father this, my father that"? Be your own man and earn your own stripes lah!

2) What is the trip got to do with us Malaysians? Are the Malaysian Chinese more inclined to vote for the BN now that we have made this "historic" visit to China i.e the "Motherland"?

3) Did the Chinese government give up its communist roots now that our PM has visited the nation?

4) If not would Chin Peng be allowed to come "home"? ......Since we are so friendly with the world's largest communist country?

5) Maybe there is trip in the pipeline to "motherland India"....and there is the same media treatment again?

Me in the morning.......after reading the papers!

"Only the roof fall down what! Nobody die okloh!". This is how I felt the papers had reported the stadium collapse in Terengganu. Where was the outrage? Where were the reactions from the people condemning the collapse? Where were the calls for someone to be accountable? Why were the contractors not named in the reports? Who were the architects? Why no police report made by the MB of Terengganu to investigate the fiasco? Why the PWD didnt do anything for a year? Why no CF?

So many questions.......ah.... but this is Malaysia what! All those things not important. What is important according to the MB of Terengganu, is for a "study" to be conducted into why the roof collapsed. He was also reported to have said that foreign experts must be called in for a "second opinion" on the collapse. He is reported to have said " This way we can compare the findings of the foreign experts with that of the consultants hired by the PWD, to ensure the findings are consistent and ironclad". What a load of bollocks! Just more excuses to spend money I think.

The Deputy Higher Education is reported to have said " When I saw the damage on TV, I was shocked as this was where I was supposed to have been". Dear god........What is wrong with these people?

I don't knowlah....we Malaysians have gotten used to things falling apart I think. We are just so immune that to think otherwise would be considered abnormal. After all its just an empty stadium that collapsed...not like people died or anything right? Not like people go holding candles in the night right? That one cannotlah! This one "cari makan" what? Why you so busy body one?

The above comment was left by a reader yesterday. Thank you HT. I think I have to respond to HT by posting this.

When you go watch a movie you have the anticipation and hope that the movie leaves you satisfied in the end. If you are happy at the end of the movie you probably would be muttering to yourself that it was money well spent. Supposing you leave the movie hall feeling cheated, disgusted and annoyed that you had wasted your time and precious money in watching the movie; Do you then go out to make a movie yourself? Do you go out to become a director or an actor just to prove a point?

The " point" I am making is this. At this moment I just want to be part of the "audience" in the movie hall. I will speak my mind when I disagree/annoyed with someone in public office. Just because I disagree or am annoyed does not mean I have to be involved/participate in any political party. Cant I just disagree and state my disagreement without the need to actually join the political fray? Sorrylah I cant brave the waters now! The waters are reputed to be very deep and infested even with sharks!

The other thing is this. I am of the firm opinion that politics in this country revolves too much around "race" presently. Almost every politician tries to be the champion of his "race". I think there are no political party out there really championing "Malaysians". Until the day I think there exists a political party that champions us Malaysians....... I shall just be commenting from the sidelines.

It appears that our beloved country has a new motto. Since the new administration has taken over there HAS been changes.

Last time Malaysia semua Boleh now SEMUA TAK BOLEH! The following are examples of SEMUA TAK BOLEH! I have also tried to explain the new policiy as best as I can.

1) Wear clothing in the colour of "opposite white". Gives the impression that Malaysians have no other clothes to wear!

2) Lawyers cannot attend to their clients at the police station. If still insist, get arrested for unlawful assemblylah! You fellas nothing to do is it, go and support crimminals?

3) Hold peaceful vigils. Candles are the new weapons of choice for terrorists and therefore must be outlawed!

4) Have fasts within your own compound. How can? Malaysia is land of abundant food what! What will the world think of us Malaysians?

5) Have opinions that differ from that of the powers that be. Sorry who are you to think otherwise anyway? We know best what!You people just follow what we say.

6) Have any say as to how you want country to be run. Cannot what! How can? We politicians can think for you. You people just follow the "law"!

7) Opposition news must be banned. Only exception is when it is bad for them. Why should we give them good publicity? Want... go buy TV station or newspaper company lah!

8) Cannot mention that "murder case". No publicity for this ok. She is dead so no need to highlight her anymore ok! The problem has been solved!

9) Cannot say Judiciary not free and independent. Nothing to investigate ok. The ACA ,police and the AG all ok what! What those lawyers know anyway?

10) Cannot say police corrupt/abusive/incompetent ok. See how many people they arrested for standing at night with candles. How to do anything else? The law breakers must be arrested ASAP. It is for the good of the Rakyat what. It is for the Rakyat's security what!

The disease I call "What's in it for me?" affects most politicians in Bolehland!

The political party PPP of the BN is reduced to nothing more than a sad and sick joke! It is absolutely ludicrous I say! To think that these people claim that they have the interests of the rakyat in everything that they do is just so sick. The bottom line I think, is that most politicians clamour for public office for nothing more than its privileges and perks!

The following is a quote from one of the presidents of PPP " I had around 100 agents who monitored the EGM and reported to me like James Bond". Say what? Did I get that correct? James Bond?Hello..... Too many Gin Tonics or stout is it?

Another quote I read had me simply rolling on the floor I tell you. " He should check in Tanjung Rambutan hospital. You cannot simply hold a meeting and elect a new president. This is not Miss World where the winner wears a sash and a crown".

It appears that the other President is keeping "mum" for now and has been quoted as saying "They can say anything they want".

A joke is what this is. Simply a joke. These politicians are so caught up with their own egos and championing their own causes. It is a disease I tell you. The disease is diagnosed as "what's in it for me mate". Don't worry the disease apparently is only contagious amongst politicians. Not too long ago it was the same in the MCA, UMNO and even the lovable MIC. It appears that the illness does not go away and makes an appearance from time to time!

One independent candidate for Penanti is also no better. Why is it that these people always claim to have some "dirt" on certain people just prior to any bye elections? Before this all hunky dory!Just amazing! Dulu tak da cakap apa-apa.... suddenly now got evidence of alleged wrong doing against certain people! Why wait until now?

Whose decision is it?

I am a Malaysian politician what! You apa tanya?

I spent the past few days in Ipoh for some work related matters. Being there, I happened to ask people in Ipoh how they felt about the political situation there. I think what I gathered can be summarised by the following three words " betrayal, disappointment and amazement". By and large I would say that this is the general feeling in Ipoh.

The court of appeal is set to make a decision on who the people of Perak would be having as the MB today. Amazing isn't it? I always thought that this choice was one for the Rakyat to make. Anyway, I am not holding my breath on this one. In fact I have been saying "fresh elections" so many times that I am guilty of being a parrot somewhat. The only way this political impasse is going to be resolved is by having fresh elections. Period.

There was one comment that someone made in Ipoh that made me write this post. On the day of the DUN sitting, the police had cordoned of the area. Only state assemblymen were allowed in. Even the MP's and people with invitation letters from the Speaker were turned away! Security was that tight. No one other than the elected assemblymen were allowed in. If that was to be the case....what was Ganesan doing in the Dewan? He is not an elected assemblyman. Why did the police allow Mr Ganesan into the house? Strangely and rather conveniently this stranger to the house gets elected to be the new Speaker in place of the existing legitimate one. Before one can say "behold and presto" the new not so legitimate Speaker "orders" the police to remove the legitimate sitting Speaker! I must say that the role of the police in this sordid episode had clearly shown that the police had taken sides with the BN. Shame on you boys in blue for taking sides!

Speaking of the boys in blue, the arrests of the 5 legal aid lawyers outside the Brickfields police station recently is to be condemned. Clearly the OCPD of the said station does not know the provisions of the CPC or if knows chose to ignore it. The police arrests of the 5 and their subsequent treatment whilst in detention clearly amplifies the need for an urgent review of the laws and powers governing the police. It is a question of who is policing the police? The police cannot be allowed to be a law unto themselves! Say what? You really mean that.....? Really.........?

I laugh and sometimes even get a migraine attack when politicians open their mouths and utter words that can only be understood by themselves. Maybe their sense of logic is not quite the same as the rest of us. I don't know lah.......maybe science should probe this illness further and get to the bottom of this mysterious logic by politicians.

I say so based on the following:-

1) The PM is quoted to have said " BN is not afraid. We have got to face the Rakyat and we will face the rakyat when the time comes. A state election is one of the options to resolve the crisis in Perak. But, under the constitution, it is the Sultan of Perak's discretion to decide whether an election should be held. So it is not some thing that has to happen". I don't know about you lah but to me that is very weird logic! The thing is this , I thought we lived in a constitutional monarchy, one where the monarchy is "advised" to do a certain act from time to time depending on the circumstances.Are you saying Sir that HRH the Sultan has absolute discretion in the matter that the wishes of the Rakyat are to be completely ignored? Are you saying that it is the Monarchy that actually decides when elections are to be held in this country? And that the executive has no choice or say in the matter?

2) Datuk Seri Anwar Ibrahim - " ....The mandate must be given to the people of Perak to decide, not the courts.We are willing to to cooperate to respect the Constitution". My dear sir.....the blame for this whole mess lies with you and your people in PR. If you people didn't get "frogs" to be elected then we wont be in this mess in the first place, would we? Make sure in future you people get it right the next time. And please don't encourage this "frog" culture lah. See the mess it has caused? What goes around comes around....right?

3) Former PM Mahathir - " ...The best way is for a vote of no confidence to be moved in the state assembly to set up a new government under the BN leadership. It ( an election) costs money. The result I think, is foregone conclusion. What needs to be done is for the Dewan to sit and, if the BN really has the majority, it can move a motion of no confidence in the (PR) MB. Then you can set up another government". This man should be sent to an old folks home for good, me thinks. My dear sir, if the foregone conclusion is that if fresh elections are held and BN would surely lose doesn't that indicate to you that the Rakyat DOES NOT want BN to rule the state of Perak? You govern for the rakyat or for the interests of BN?

This is how I view most politicians!

How is it that this man Zambry is capable of describing himself to be a Gandhi or Mandela is beyond me. This Zambry chap claims that the "struggles" that he is currently undergoing is akin to the struggles of the great Mahatma and even Mandela. Oh Dear.... all that illegitimate power must have gone to his head. The poor man is obviously delirious. Hello... how many years or days you spent in prison ah? How have you suffered for the people? How have you inspired right thinking people to join in your struggle? Oh dear..... have you no shame? Maybe a case of being incapable of feeling shame I guess.

Mr Zambry... wake up and smell the roses. Stop your hallucinations and get real for once. The power you claim now was stolen from the Rakyat. That is a fact. If you really claim to have suffered for the people...call for fresh elections and see how the Rakyat repays you for all your sufferings.

Simple solution!

Sometimes the solutions in life are really very simple!

The other day I was having a chat with a taxi driver. We were talking about the political impasse in Perak. I must admit that I found this chap to be quite a witty fellow too. So it was no surprise to me that I thoroughly enjoyed the chat which lasted for about almost three quarters of an hour.

The remark that he made that made a lasting impression was this. He said " Boss apa manyak susah? Tak payah naik court turun court lah! Ini senang kasi settle punya. Panggil itu undi lagi lah. Siapa menang dia gomen lah!"

Well I guess what this chap said is true. Don't need us lawyers to run up and down the corridors of court, waving our copies of the Constitution. No need for learned constitutional arguments that don't make sense to the average Joe on the street.

All it takes are for cool heads to resolve this impasse in a gentlemanly manner. The BN government says it cares for the people and that whatever it does is always with the people's interests at heart.

The ball is in your court Mr PM sir. Be a gentleman and call for fresh elections in Perak. You have the power to stop all the shenanigans that is persisting now. We the Rakyat do not need all the drama and side shows. Put a stop to this nonsense. As you are aware the courts are already inundated with so many other cases that it need not be further encumbered with this ugly Perak episode.

The solution for this political impasse is so simple yet it is rather very strange that the BN refuses to accede to this.

It is sad to note that lawyers trying to attend to their clients are arrested these days. There appears to be a desperate attempt by the powers that be to use all force to clamp down dissent from that of the official view. The antics of these people presently, remind me of the Nazi's of Germany during the second world war!. These days even the color "opposite white" is unbearable! It appears to wear clothing of this color is an offence under the law. They say it is an offence under the Sedition Act or so I have heard. I guess I had to use "opposite white" here to describe this color lest I also run foul of this "law"!

Now Virus "lawlessness" has spread to Malaysia....or maybe it spread from Malaysia?

Today I mourn. Today I mourn. Today I mourn! So much chaos and so many arrests!

It appears that the virus "lawlessness" has taken over the country. There are people being arrested for reasons so stupid I think insults the intelligence of any sane person. But that is the thing isn't it? These are not people who are sane. These are power crazy zealots that will do anything to remain in power. The events in Perak is a clear illustration of the insanity that is going on. Madness I say! Take precautions people, from this virus. Take care. There is no vaccine for this madness presently.

I can only say this. NEVER FORGET! NEVER FORGET! NEVER FORGET! The will of the people had been defeated by the "leaping frogs". They can argue till the cows come home in all their fanciful words and eloquence. The fact is ......These hoodlums stole and cheated the people of their choice!

Never forget and make them pay for the insanity that these hoodlums had unleashed on the nation! Come the next elections, you know what to do. Mark "x" in the correct spot. Make every "x" count!

I am going to make this a short post. The award of outstanding idiots goes to.........drum roll please.......

a) The new home minister for telling YB Manoharan not to "threaten" the government in wanting to resign as an elected member! Reason : Its gonna cost the government RM20million to have a bye election.

b) The powers that be for arresting that "Bersih" guy Wong Chin Huat for telling people to wear black tomorrow in protest against the shenanigans that is ongoing in Perak. Heard that he was arrested for sedition!

c) The government and the courts in not having the moral courage in seeing a speedy resolution to the recent most "conversion" case.

I rest my case!

The DPM in all his infinite "wisdom" had said this “After winning an election, it’s time for him to get to work. He should be responsible enough and not step down unnecessarily as is being done by those from some political parties. The exceptions are when he is declared a bankrupt, convicted or dies.”

Dear Mr DPM. The poor man is incarcerated under the ISA. You idiots had put him there in Kamunting.It is not by choice that YB Manoharan is not doing his job as an elected representative of the Rakyat. He has no choice in the matter. Pray please enlighten us how is he to carry out his duties and functions as an elected representative whilst being incarcerated?

Free him or otherwise just shut UP!

A long road ahead still!

Looks like it is still a long road ahead.

Yesterday I was elated when I read the papers about how the Cabinet had decided on the policy regarding conversions involving minors. Today I am not so elated any more. This is after what I read in the papers today. It appears that there are many quarters not very happy with the policy made by the cabinet. They argue that the Federal Court had decided in the Subashini case that it is good in law for one spouse to convert the children even if the other spouse disagreed. They also state that Art 12 (4) of the Federal Constitution is authority to say that because of the words "parent or guardian" and not "parents or guardian". They argue that this means singular i.e one spouse.

Q : So what happens if one spouse does this act of conversion to spite the other spouse? Does this mean that the other spouse is left with no remedy? What if the conversions are done without the knowledge of the other spouse?

With due respect I have to disagree with the Federal Court as well as the narrow interpretation in seeking out the meaning of "parent or guardian". I do not think that justice is best served when one interprets the word very narrowly as to how it is being done now. The word parent would necessarily have to mean parents i.e both father and mother! Any contrary interpretation would only bring about confusion and unjust situations. The fact of the matter is that, the Federal Court had erred in that Subashini's case.

So where do we go from here? Looks like I was right in being sceptical about this reversal in policy by the cabinet. It appears to me that there is a very long, long road ahead in resolving this matter.

Isn't religion one of faith? Shouldn't religion be a personal choice instead of being imposed arbitrarily by laws?

It appears that the ball is back at the cabinet's feet. Will it seek to ammend the existing laws and end the illogical nonsense that is going on?

Hmmmm....... sad!

Remedy found?

Really ah ? Sure or not? Don't pray pray ah!

I read the front page news on the NST today that the cabinet had decided that the civil courts are the right place to dissolve a marriage in the event one spouse converts to Islam. Wow.... that is certainly a relieve. After so many tears and after so many heartaches finally some common sense in the matter. In fact the cabinet has decided that the children of the marriage should follow the faith that the parents had agreed on at the time of the said marriage. Again some much needed good news. To this I congratulate the government in being bold enough to make the necessary policy changes that is going to relieve many heartaches and dry many tears in the future. Well done to the cabinet of the new government. This is definitely a good start!

But then again.....call me a sceptic lah. Now I am wondering if the new policy by the cabinet is going to get implemented real soon. As everyone is aware there are many little Napoleons on the ground level. On many occasions in the past these little devils try to frustrate the implementation of good policies for reasons best known to themselves. I say it is yet to be seen how this new policy gets translated into reality. The act governing civil marriages need to be amended and the courts have to implement the new policy when faced with matters like this. Sadly there have been instances in the past where even the courts have failed in such matters.

For now we have to be optimistic that there will be change and that the change is for the better. One that brings about fewer tears and fewer heartaches.

Another conversion case. Sad!

The tears continue to flow! Sad...very sad indeed!

The latest case of Indira Gandhi and her children is one that the authorities need to look at carefully to ensure that such cases do not recur in the future. In this case it is reported that the father of the children had converted them to Islam by using their birth certificates. The father having converted to Islam had chosen to convert the children to Islam as well.The conversion was never communicated to the mother of the children nor consented to by her. The older of the children in this case are of the ages 12 and 11. The youngest of the lot is a mere baby!

The mother is now being under tremendous amount of stress and anxiety for fear that her children would be taken away from her by the religious authorities. The youngest child is with the father presently and has refused to hand over the baby to the mother.

Why is it that we continue to read about cases like this in the papers ? Why has the government been unable to find a solution to this problem that crops up time and again? As always the family of the person who has converted is in the dark of the conversion. As always there is the marriage that that was originally contracted under Civil Laws and now subjected to syariah laws. As always there are some minors involved wherein the right to be converted to another faith is always questioned. As always the usual tears and sadness! Why ? How is it that children who are so young,innocent and unable to decide on a myriad of things suddenly put in such a quandary? How can anyone say with certainty that the conversions of the children had been done in a reasoned and a truly spiritual manner according to the new faith?

The newly minted PM has brandished his newly coined "1Malaysia" concept vigorously when he came to office recently. Well Mr PM solve this problem quick. This is one way you are going to win over the hearts and confidence of the people. Ensure that justice is done in this Indira Gandhi case and cases like it. May it be in a just and fair manner. Let not all the talk be just that ......just talk!

There must be some long term solution found to this problem from ever arising again!

Good for the goose good for the gander?

That's what happens when you don't think of the consequences mate! Lain kali pikir dulu!

I read from the Malaysiakini site that the MB for Puchong i.e YB Gobind Singh is about to challenge his suspension from Parliament in court. Well I think this is one that has the classic saying "whats good for the goose is equally good for the gander!". I support YB Gobind in his endeavour. In fact I wish I could be part of the team that brings this matter to court! Ha-Ha!

Look if the Federal Court can say that it has the jurisdiction to enquire into matters involving the Perak state assembly then surely the courts now have the equal jurisdiction to enquire into the suspension of YB Gobind from Parliament! Maybe YB Gobind can come to court and say that the Speaker was wrong in meting out the suspension because the end result of the said suspension would have been to penalise the poor innocent constituents of Puchong; therefore it was Ultra Vires the Federal Constitution! Hmmmm........interesting! I say brilliant!

I wonder how the courts are going to decide in this matter now? Ultra Vires or no Ultra Vires ?

FC judges says it was Ultra Vires!

Weird isn't it ?

Sometimes it takes a judgement to be pronounced in the highest court to state the case for wanting real judicial reforms to be made to the said institution. The Perak Speaker's decision yesterday is one classic example. It appears that the FC in its infinite wisdom had decided that the Perak Speaker's decision to suspend Zambry and 6 others to be ultra vires the Constitution and therefore null and void.I think we can all agree that in arguing cases sometimes we win and sometimes we lose. The reasons given by the courts to justify its decisions are very important for litigants to feel assured that they had been heard and that justice had been dispensed without fear nor favour. Dare we say that this recent decision in the FC had that feel in its decision?

Hmmmm...... I don't knowlah! To me there appears to be a strong case for saying that the FC had erred in its decision. I believe that the law as it stands now affords that the actions of the Speaker not to be questioned in any court of law. So how is it that the FC is now saying that the Speaker of the DUN was wrong is suspending the new MB and the 6 others ? If the actions are not subject to review then how is it that the FC had now deemed it fit to review it? Would this decision by the FC be deemed to be "interference"?

Anyway facts and law aside, I still say that the best possible solution to this political impasse in Perak would be to call for fresh elections to be held in the state of Perak. All this running up and down the courts in the present circumstances is not going to solve anything.If anything it is only going to isolate the rakyat more. If the PM (being the leader of the BN) really wants to gain support and go down the history books to have been a great PM for Malaysia,then this would be a great opportunity for him to do so.

Our new Information, Communication and Culture Minister has come out strong yesterday stating that bloggers had better watch out. He says that if you violate the laws of this country by "twisting the truth" then one has to answer for his actions. To me this sort of comments coming from a minister tends to get boring and unbecoming of a minister. Why is it that ministers always tend to issue threats as a response to certain issues? Didn't the present information Minister see how the people responded to the former home minister when he was in office? I have this piece of advice to the present information Minister. Please be a minister that engages the people and have the people's genuine interest in all that you do. The rakyat is sick and tired of silly ministers that are only good at issuing threats whilst lording over the rakyat!

Was the case decided according to law?

Sedapnya tidur! Aiyah.....no need submissionslah..... I rule in favour of the guy that looks like an Indian but is not!

Sometimes I really wonder as to the competency of our judges. I have appeared before some of them and at many times I had left the courthouse wondering just how on earth did that he/she become a judge in the first place! Of course i have to be fair and say that not all all the judges have left me wondering such. There have been many occasions too when I have been very impressed by the wit and sharpness of certain judges.

I guess in every profession there is the odd black sheep that one has to contend with. Anyway the reason why I am making this post is to record my surprise and utter shock at reading how the Federal Court had decided that it has the jurisdiction to enquire as to whether the exercise of the Speaker DUN Perak was lawful or not! To my surprise the FC actually decided that it was for the Elections Commission to decide if whether there was a casual vacancy or not. I must confess that I had not read the entire judgement to be fair to the said judges of the FC, so I am making this post merely by reading newspaper reports.

Whatever it is, isn't it a provision of the Perak Constitution namely in Article XXXIII. (1) If any question arises whether a member of the Legislative Assembly has become disqualified for membership, the decision of the Assembly shall be taken and shall be final. Question : Did the Assembly sit and decide on this matter ?

In addition isn't it a provision in the Federal Constitution namely in Article 72, Clause (1) of the Federal Constitution that clearly states:
72. (1) The validity of any proceedings in the Legislative Assembly of any State shall not be questioned in any court.

Now if that was the position in law, then the question that arises is whether the provisions of the law had been duly adhered to by the FC in deciding the case?

The Dodo bird lives!

The Dodo bird my friends have been thought to be extinct for a long time now. However recent research has shown that they have evolved into becoming politicians and journalists even! Strange but true! Only happens in Malaysia!

At first glance this article is very good in that it propounds fostering better ties amongst the races. But upon closer examination this article to me is very racist and advocates that ONLY the BN is capable of fostering good ties amongst the races that ultimately brings about progress and development. Pure hogwash is what I say to this theory.

I reproduce a snippet from the article "Segala kemajuan yang kita kecapi hari ini adalah atas dasar kerjasama dan perkongsian kuasa melalui kerajaan Barisan Nasional. Relakah kita melihat segala impian yang dibina hancur berkecai akibat perpecahan antara kaum."

I am a non Malay and I know for certain I am not questioning the rights of the Monarchy, language and religion of the Malays. In fact I don't even know any non Malay who is questioning these rights now. If I may add, I don't even know or even heard any non Malay who is calling for amendments to be made to the Federal Constitution asking for the removal of these rights. I as a non malay am praying that the people of this nation will stop talking in divisive terms and truly unite as "one" in our own unique way. So what if we speak in different languages at home ? But then again, don't we all sit at the Mamak stall and speak malay when we communicate with one another ? I am Malaysian first despite being of Indian descent. This is my home and I ain't goin no where.

So what then, are the objectives for writing such an article that gives the impression that the non Malays are clamouring for the removal of such rights ? Shouldn't this article be deemed to be seditious in nature ? Was the article aimed to cause the Malays to be upset and annoyed at the non Malays? Is the "mischief" here created to ensure that the BN continues to hoodwink the masses to remain in power? Hmmm.....

They just don't learn do they ? It is very obvious that some have clearly not learnt their lesson from events past. Just like the Dodo bird, it is inevitable that some are doomed to extinction by their inability to learn and reform!

The "point" here being the next GE ? 2010/2011 ?

The newly minted DPM was reported to have said this, in one of the local malay daily. I quote " Ya, kadang-kadang kita berasa terpedaya juga kerana zahirnya nampak macam ‘ok’, sambutan dengan tepukan gemuruh tetapi mungkin sudah ada tertanam dalam hati iaitu sesuatu tidak mudah hendak berubah, pokoknya masalah isu Perak terutamanya di kalangan masyarakat Cina yang mungkin telah dipengaruhi dengan sentimen simpati kepada Datuk Seri Ir.Mohamad Nizar Jamaluddin, kononnya dia ‘dijatuhkan’, lepas itu kononnya dasar memberi pegangan tanah selama 99 tahun dilihat dasar yang menguntungkan.“Ini yang mungkin menyebabkan sukar BN mendapat sokongan walaupun kita fikir bila mereka hendak sekolah Cina dibantu, kita bantu, sepatutnya mereka membalas budi.“Pada waktu itu, kita pun tidak berharap sokongan kaum Cina akan meningkat 40 peratus dan sebagainya cuma kita berharap ada peningkatan sedikit tetapi apa yang berlaku ia mencatatkan penurunan, macam tidak ada penghargaan terhadap apa yang kita lakukan.”

Now, not only did he say that but he also added "Ini yang mungkin menyebabkan sukar BN mendapat sokongan walaupun kita fikir bila mereka hendak sekolah Cina dibantu, kita bantu, sepatutnya mereka membalas budi."

I dont think I need to add nor elaborate as to what the above means. Read and make up your own minds. What I must say is that, the newly minted DPM is still very much in the old school politician mold. I must also say that this sort of politicians must be made extinct! They are no longer relevant nor needed in the present day political landscape of Malaysia.

The very astute DPM had this to quip when asked to comment about his comments that appeared in the said daily. I quote " “If you don’t understand Bahasa Malaysia, we can send you to school,”

When will they ever learn ? Or maybe I should ask; are they even capable of learning?

The strangest of phenomenon in that Altantuya trial is the fact that the Malaysian public never once saw, just how the 2 UTK elite squad members convicted for the crime actually looks like! Just how the hell do these people look like ? Why are their pictures not paraded in all the newspapers and tv after having been found guilty of this dastardly crime ?

Is it so, that we may never know who they were ? Why ah..... ?

Whats the motive?

Now why did you do it mate ?

Should you not know by now, the 2 UTK chaps have been found guilty of murdering the Mongolian woman known as Altantuya. Well that's all well and good. But I still don't get it ! Why would they want to kill her in the first place ? What is their motive ? How did they benefit by killing her ? Were they under instructions ? If so, under who's instructions ?

This is one trial that had the factor X written all over it from day one. X being the factor of the unknown! In fact this trial reminds of an episode from the "X files" . I loved watching the series in the early 90's. After watching each episode you had that gnawing feeling in your gut that the US government were hiding secrets from its citizenry! Didnt matter it was all make believe then.

But this is NO episode from the X files. These are real people and the events that took place were real. Someone actually died a very horrible death in this case. The very sad thing about this whole affair is that there are still many unresolved issues regarding this case. None more so than the obvious one :Just what is the motive now in this case ? Why was Altantuya murdered ?

I cant believe for one moment, that this 2 chaps from the UTK woke up one morning and decided to first shoot and then to use c4 on the dead body! Why ?

May the truth reign in the end! May the truth bring all that were responsible for this dastardly act face justice soon!

Just like in the X files, I have to end my post by stating " The truth is out there!"

Do we need those huge pictures ?

Sorrylah Mr PM! Tiada restu rakyat bagi mu kini!

I just don't get it. Now you must be wondering as to what has got my beef now ? Those big posters hung across the roads congratulating the new PM. That's my beef todaylah!

I was driving to court this morning when I saw this huge picture of PM Najib hung across the road. This was somewhere along Jalan Loke Yew near the Chinese school. Goodness gracious me! Now just why is this huge picture there ? As if we Malaysians don't already know that we have Najib as the 6th PM of Malaysia ? The funny thing is the congratulatory picture/poster did not name who put it up! Look the way I see it, unless you had been living on Mars, one being a Malaysian would definitely have had known that we have a new PM to helm the country!

The past few days since Najib became PM there have been many people/companies trying to outdo one another in placing full page advertisements in the newspapers congratulating Najib. There were many that were placed thanking our good old Pak Lah also! Hello...... so much money is it ?

Look, all you clowns who insist in "balls carrying"; may I suggest you do something else instead ? Why don't you use the money and donate it to some charity or needy school in the name of your heroes ? This way you can kill two birds with one stone. Its such a shame! The world is in recession and you clowns are wasting valuable resources on polishing some politician's ego ? Nothing to do is it ? So much money is it ?

Why doesn't our beloved PM ban all this "bodeking" ? Oh ya......... maybe he likes his ego being polished ?

Yes! I believe I can fly........

Yes ! It happened at the 2 Bukits ! The Rakyat has clearly rejected the BN in the 2 by elections. To tell the truth I was a little concerned for the 2 Bukits. I was worried that the media blitz by the BN would have played a major role in the elections. Well you know what... the Rakyat is apparently very smart. They rejected the BN. That my friends, is a fact now. Never mind that the PR lost in Batang Ai, for that one was an uphill battle from the moment go.

But these losses of the BN in the 2 Bukits is something to be rejoiced by all right thinking people. The message is clear. The Rakyat is so BOSAN with the stupid antics by the BN. The time to be accountable and transparent is now beholden upon us.

I heard over the radio this morning that Muhyiddin Yasin the UMNO deputy President was saying that the BN will conduct a post mortem to ascertain why the BN had lost. I tell you what Sir...Tak Payah post mortem. The answer is plain and obvious for all to see. All the bullying and corruption done in the past has not gone down well with the Rakyat. That is why you people lost. The BN has grown so arrogant that it has lost all grounding with the Rakyat!

So to that former PM I have this to say....better go tend to your garden and play with your grand children in your old age. Tak payah menyibuk nak jadi advisorlah ! Buang masa. WE ARE SO SICK OF YOUR ANTICS BOTH PAST AND PRESENT! Should the PR be the government of Malaysia some day, they ought to prosecute you for your past deeds.

Now that the message has been delivered loud and clear to the BN government (not once but twice), the question arises as to whether the BN is going to change for a better Malaysia or is it going to be adamant of its past ways ? One thing is for sure, if the BN does not reform, come the next general elections the BN would be reduced to being the opposition rather than the government!

Together we can make Malaysia great!

I wonder how the PR will fare in the 3 by elections being held today. I am hoping that the PR will win in all the 3 by elections. Me, I am no politician. In fact I am not affiliated to any political party. Though I am not a member of any political party, I am of the firm opinion that only by having a strong opposition will bring about the much needed "check and balance" that seems so wanting in Malaysia today. There is so much unbridled power presently in the hands of the BN government that there seems to an air of arrogance that is associated with the BN. Past incidences of excesses and abuses appear to be unforgettable and unforgivable even.

Did you see how the former PM is able to walk the streets in Bukit Gantang trying to coax the people there to vote for BN ? Makes me sick. This man was responsible for the rot and destruction of many of the organs of state. Just look at the Judiciary today !And now he wants to be an adviser to the present government under Najib ? Anyway, strangely enough, despite being soundly beaten at the polls on 8/3/08 the BN government seems yet to learn anything from this message by the people. I guess some are just so thick!

I agree with what the former law mininister Datuk Zaid had said; here is the chance for the people to state their choice. So what will it be people ?

I am praying that the winds of change will continue to blow today!

Me still no percaya sama lu lah!

I had been away the whole of last week. I didn't have the chance to post my thoughts as to recent events up till now. Wow! In a space of just a week we Malaysians have had much to talk about didn't we ? First we had the Earth Hour, then we had a new PM, Formula 1 and now the by elections. We certainly have it good don't we ? Ha-ha!!

Anyway I am just not convinced with the new PM's new found "approach" to the Rakyat. Call me a sceptic but I just don't buy it lah! We have been hoodwinked as a nation so many times in the past that I have resigned myself to being a sceptic!

The new man says the ISA detainees were released because the government cares! Hello am I missing a point here ? And just why did you gomen fellas detain these people in the first place then ? Oh ya ..... I forgot, because you cared! I don't know about you chaps, I have the strangest feeling in my gut that nothing much is going to change here in Bolehland! Just the same old people doing the same old magic tricks getting us Rakyat all wanting to believe that change is really upon us.

Tell you what Mr New PM , this is my list for a better Malaysia....would you really be able to do something about it ?

1) The findings of the Royal Commission into the infamous Lingam tapes;

2) The "missing men" from the Altantuya matter and other related matters;

3) A truly independent MACC;

4) The independent police commission;

5) Abolish the ISA;

6) A free and independent Judiciary;

7) A free and independent media;

8) Freedom of assembly.

Tell you what Sir, just start with the list above. I will post you suggestions from time to time as warranted in the circumstances.

Earth Hour

Be part of this project! Make mother nature proud of you!

The plain truth is this, the Earth our planet and only home needs our help! Our planet Earth is being choked to "death" by our lust for more energy, land and all other "necessities" that it is only a matter of time before the planet gives up on us. Very soon we human beings would have stripped this planet, our only home of all its natural resources which ultimately would cause our own demise and destruction as inhabitants of this planet.

But wait, I am reliably informed that this grim picture of doom need not hold true, if we as inhabitants make a collective effort in wanting to see that mother nature resuscitates and has enough time and space to heal. We can be a part of this healing process. Together all of us can make a change for a better future. Simple things go a long way. One simple way would be to simply reduce and recycle always! I must confess that there were many times in the past where I had abandoned and not cared enough for mother nature. I am guilty of saying "Ah it doesn't matter!" but the fact of the matter is that that every little thing that we do does matter!

Come this 28/3/09 we all have an opportunity to be part of the process of making sure that our planet doesn't go kaput in the near future. Together let's switch off our lights from 8.30 till 9.30 pm. Though some may criticise the effort to be merely symbolic and not holistic enough but I am resolved to be part of this great effort. I think the point is "awareness" my dear friends! It is the first step. Let this first step be our catalyst for greater awareness for mother nature and all things around us.

Come this Saturday I will be sitting in my garden with my family and maybe do a little star gazing ! What might you be doing this Saturday nite ?

Believe me this simple act by all of us will surely go a long way!

Will Najib be PM ?

Yup I was incompetent, mad and a clown sometimes........but can U explain the mystery mate ?

The caption to the press release is "Najib should come clean". I fully subscribe to the view that Mr Najib should explain many issues that appear to be very "mysterious" and "unresolved" presently in that Altantuya murder and its related affairs. I am also of the humble opinion that Mr Najib should not be given the helm of this nation until all matters are fully resolved and explained. I quote what Tengku Razaleigh had said via his press release "Najib should voluntarily offer to testify at the trial of the two officers charged with killing Altantuya Shaariibuu. He could also write to these newspapers and if necessary he should take legal action against them to clear his name and that of our country.-Tengku Razaleigh HamzahKuala Lumpur25 March 2009

Tengku Razaleigh has also stated for the record that swearing on the holy book means nothing as even scoundrels have been known to do that! The question is : will he do it, will he come clean ? To be a leader of the nation one has to walk the talk. All I have been hearing thus far from Mr Najib is mere talk. To be the leader that he aspires to be, mere talk is insufficient. I say - The actions of the leader maketh the true leader not merely his talk!.

Moving on to that UMNO AGM and its elections, the results announced speaks volumes as to its so called aspirations in wanting to "reinvent" and "reform" to endear itself to the Rakyat. Fat chance in that happening now. It makes me just so sick to read as to how the new youth chief whom had been found guilty of "money politics" is allowed to contest the post and to eventually win it even! Just so sick! It is so typical isn't it ? With leaders like these, just how is it going to endear itself to the Rakyat ? Beats me!

Project crackdown initiated ?

I am going to tear you to pieces! Be afraid..... very afraid!

It is sad to note that the police had used water cannons and tear gas on the people who were at Anwar's ceramah last nite in Kedah. From what I gather the crowd were not given any warning to disperse before the use of such force. I also read that about 50 people were also arrested! I fail to see the objective of the police here. Was there a crime in progress that they had to use such force ? Was the crime here merely for wanting to peaceably assemble to hear the "opposition" speak ? Was this the crime, that had to be stopped at all costs ? Were there women and children present ? Elderly people ?

Why is this BN government also banning the "Harakah" and the "Suara Keadilan" ? Are they trying to stop reading this papers for they fear the contents that they carry ? Does the "truth" that these publications carry, hurt so much that no efforts must be spared in letting them to continue publishing ?

It appears to me that this BN government is muzzling down on dissent. I dread what the future might hold; ISA arrests ? Why is it that this BN government not learnt its lesson ? Doesn't it realise that using force is not going to endear itself to the Rakyat. Wasn't the 8/3/08 a lesson enough ? The Rakyat is demanding for a more transparent, accountable and responsible government. Instead of reforming itself and improving, this government stands accused of furthering its own agenda without having the pulse of the Rakyat at heart. Sad!

On the topic of banning I also have this to say to MR Lim Guan Eng; banning the NST is no answer ! You are behaving just like the BN that we have come to loathe so much.If you don't like the news written about you just don't read them. Don't get your undies all tied up into a knot just because you don't like the coverage! The NST will surely work in the manner in which they are programmed to. So please accept it and move on. Banning the NST sounds very juvenile and silly to me. If you think that you are doing a good job for the Rakyat then let the Rakyat be your judge! The Rakyat will know if you are a good CM or not. Forget the papers and just do your job!

Looks like the opposition candidate for Bukit Gantang is going to be the once "legitimate" MB of Perak. Does this mean this going to be some sort of referendum for the people of Perak ? If this is so, then let the people of Perak choose wisely !

Dare liverpool fans hope/dream ?

Mighty Reds's machine rolling on!

Last night I stayed up till half past one in the morning watching TV. It was the premiere league tie between Liverpool and Aston Villa that had made me stay up. The match had been billed as a must win match if Liverpool harboured any desire/hope in wanting to secure the premiership title this year. Strange but it was only a few weeks ago when all the pundits had written off the Premiership title as already being won by MU. The recent result of Liverpool beating MU by 4-1 had the two teams below MU in the table i.e Liverpool and Chelsea licking their fingers to the idea that maybe, just maybe all is not done and dusted yet!

And did the Reds win the tie in style or what ? 5-0 I was in absolute heaven you could say! The scoreline was 3-0 when the teams went in for half time. In the end the Villa team simply didn't have any answer to the massive onslaught by the Reds. Attack after attack was launched to produce a scoreline that read 5-0 in the end! Simply amazing.

Well the Reds are now just one point behind the Devils (who also have a game in hand). The devils had lost 3 precious points losing to Fulham on Saturday. The Blues also did not do their cause any favours when they also lost 1-0 away to the Spurs. So you could say I had a good weekend (football wise) Ha-Ha!!!

Dare we Liverpool fans hope/wish/pray that come May we will be crowned champions ?

Silly season starts again!

Errr........ what me silly ?

Its official now. The silly season is back! Should you not know the UMNO general meeting is but a mere few hours away. Already I can feel the tension building up in the air. This is the time when politicians young and old will come out crawling from the wood works screaming about "their" rights and those "other people's rights"! There is already talk of wanting to bring out the "keris" again by certain people. The usual screams of "we are under siege" and "we are masters" are going to be bandied about in the next few days.

Why is it that after so many years of independence, we are unable to move forward and stop thinking along such narrow race lines ? Cant we all agree that we are a nation of many races and yet so uniquely Malaysians ? How is it that we are still able to flog this "sickly race horse" despite showcasing to the world that we are "Malaysia, truly Asia"? A melting pot of diverse cultures and races...where all live in perfect peace and harmony ? Oh ya, that one only for advertisement ma!

Look the point I am making is this. The world is in a dire economic recession; are we Malaysians going to concentrate on working together in ensuring that we see through this tumultuous times or are we going beat our chests and blow our trumpets as to how we are different and therefore have different rights/agendas accordingly ?

May wisdom reign supreme in these uncertain times!

No reason to quit says Ali Rustam!

Saya manyak malu oh! Aiyoh apa dia cakap ni ?

I laughed out real loud this morning reading the NST. Well it appears that our beloved Ketua Menteri of Melaka has declared that he has no reason to quit! He is quoted to have said " I have no reason to quit. I am still the chief minister and the opposition can do what they like". Simply amazing! Some just have no sense of shame I guess. The man who has been found guilty of money politics says he has NO REASON TO QUIT ? As someone who hails from Melaka I am embarrassed for this man. Period.

The MACC Chief Commissioner is now quoted as saying that they are waiting for a report from the UMNO Disciplinary Board. He is further quoted to have said " If it involves bribery, then we will move in. Currently it involves breach of the party's Constitution and ethics". What a whole load of hogwash! Absolute crap in fact! There are people found guilty of "money politics" and this clown says at the moment it only involves the said party's constitution and ethics! Just compare this and the speed in which the MACC is investigating the Perak Speaker and the Perak Committee of Privileges for " misuse of power" in suspending the not so legitimate MB and his six executive councillors! Now you tell me this aint hogwash ?

The way I see it, UMNO is an ailing party afflicted with a terminal disease. No way of curing it!

A question of public perception ?

Wah ..... me look like that one ah ?

It is a question of perception I think. It is how the general Joe or Jane public views the issues I guess. Let me be frank here.....How many of us really want Mr Najib to be the next PM of this country ? Me personally I would rather have sleepy old Pak Lah to continue as PM then have Mr Najib as the PM of the nation. There I said it. Glad I got it off my chest! Look the reasons are quite simple actually. There are many unresolved "mysteries" with regards his "involvement" or otherwise in that infamous Altantuya murder trial. We simply don't know who to believe anymore. Was he involved or was he not involved....Who knows? There are simply too many questions presently and I guess it is safe to say that there are not too many satisfying answers given to answer those questions! The question is one of perception you see..... So in the circumstances should I have a choice, would I want Mr Najib as PM ? Certainly not!

The Sujatha death inquest has also got me thinking .....What was Pari Vell doing driving the deceased all the way to Klang Hospital when KL Hospital is so near from where he initially found the deceased ? Why was he able to obtain the assistance of his cousin at the hospital in Klang to treat the deceased ? Is this normal ? Why was there no toxicology reports, no post mortem done, missing urine reports, no police reports ? Why ??????? Pari Vell had also stated that allegedly the deceased had told him that she had drunk the paraquat "unknowingly"! Wow! That is simply amazing! So do you think that the late Ms Sujatha died a "normal" death after reading reports like that in the newspapers ? Hmmmmm......

The UMNO Disciplinary Board has made it so that Al Rustam will not be able to contest in the up coming UMNO party elections for having found him guilty of money politics. Question here would then be :" Kalau tak boleh bertanding macamana boleh masih jadi Ketua Menteri Melaka" A man found guilty of money politics is qualified to be Ketua Menteri but cannot contest in UMNO party elections ? What kind of logic is this ? If he had been found guilty, shouldn't he have been kicked out of the party and stripped of all his posts ? What do you think ?

What about the SIL of the outgoing PM also found guilty but let off with a warning due to a "weak link" ? And the MACC..... dont you want to investigate all this further ? Ya.....busy with Lingam tapes...no time right?

So I guess ultimately, it is a matter of perception at the end of the day. What does the Joe and Jane public think of all this ? Just another day in good old Malaysia....Ah....now where did I put my cup of tea?

"Shut them up and make it quick!"

Is this how it is in Malaysia ?

I 'm sure all of you would have known about how Gobind has been suspended from Parliament for a year. His father Mr Karpal has also been charged with sedition today for threatening to sue HRH the Sultan of Perak. It appears to me that every organ of state is being used to drown and out muscle the voice of dissent in this country.

I think the suspension of YB Gobind for one year is a tad too harsh for the "offence" that he allegedly committed. If you cant ask questions in Parliament then where else can one obtain answers ? There are many questions in that Altantuya trial and issues surrounding it that are not very satisfactory. In my mind there are too many mysteries and unresolved matters regarding that case. I guess Mr Najib could have easily put all the allegations against him to bed simply by responding to Gobind's questions in Parliament. Maybe the YB from Puchong may have been a little exuberant in the way and manner in which he approached the issue. Call it naive or even inexperience but to suspend him for a year sounds way too harsh in the circumstances.

Mr Karpal is facing charges for sedition. In my mind the charge of sedition is one very antiquated piece of legislation that ought to be removed permanently from our laws. In a civilised society we can always agree to disagree. The Federal Constitution says that the royalty can be sued and that position is very clear. One may agree or disagree with Mr Karpal's views in wanting to sue HRH the Sultan of Perak but to charge him with sedition ? Sounds very harsh to me.

Maybe the answers are in the ballot box! The next time you vote.....vote wisely, Very wisely!

Plaque vandalised and then now removed!

The new plaque under the tree? Would this have been allowed ?

I wonder why the big fuss over a small plaque to commemorate the site of having the world's first State assembly meeting under a tree? Just why do some people keep wanting to vandalise something as trivial as that ? Just why is the Ipoh City Council being so vigilant against the putting up of such a plaque ? If you go round the country you would notice many Ah Long's posters/stickers offering money lending transactions stuck on signboards and post boxes. Why the lack of fervour and zeal to remove those ? Oh ya......Ah Long give service what..

The answer is quite obvious isn't it ? The longer the plaque remains standing the more the conscience of some people gets pricked. They cant tolerate the plaque for it states the truth! The plaque would have been better if had the following words on it " Herein lies Democracy. Some never wanted to see it live and prosper. " Pity!

Did you read what the future PM's wife had to say recently ? Hmmmm.... "It's his right". Hmmmm ..... His right ? Shouldn't it be the people's right as to who they want to lead the nation ? Me - I rather have Pak Lah any day then have Mr Najib as PM of this nation. Lets just say that Mr Najib has yet to convince me on many issues.

Brilliant Liverpool!!!

That's how you do it boys!

That's four on you mate, should you not know!

Sometimes in life the inevitable happens. The law of averages would have it that you cannot go on telling people that you are the best in the world and unbeatable even. To those of you who don't follow the English Premiere League you don't know what you had missed. Ha-ha!!! Maybe I should explain why I am writing this post first.

The fact is, most of my friends and relatives are Manchester United fans. Me, I am just a mere Liverpool fan. For the past few months these MU fans have been boasting that their team is the best in the world! Of course they say they are entitled to their "learned and reasoned" opinion as their team had won that World Club tournament last year (never mind the fact that the teams that participated then were far from being world class!) Anyway the past week had been quite stressful for me. I had my usual work stress issues to contend with and to compound matters I had to bear with the constant goading from my MU friends about the game on Saturday night between their beloved team and mine i.e Liverpool.

One particular friend Patrick D even had the audacity of recording a message on my handphone that his MU team was going to beat Liverpool at their grounds by a score of 3-0! Then there was the usual SMS from others as to how their team is going on to beat Liverpool for they fear no one in the world! Honestly, I had to keep quiet for I was fearing the worst come Saturday night! Playing at Old Trafford against the team that is leading the league by seven points with a game in hand ??? I guess the odds were stacked heavily against Liverpool from salvaging anything from this game. Even the predictions in all the newspapers and sports commenters/pundits on TV had it that Liverpool was going to lose by a scoreline of at least 2-0 or even 3-0!

I guess I had the last laugh on this matter when my "lowly" Liverpool came up triumphant against the "world champions"!It was a brilliant performance by Liverpool. It was just world class if I may add! I must confess that I had trouble sleeping last night as I was in seventh heaven! Absolutely delirious you may say! Yessss.... We beat them devils 4-1! Liverpool had inflicted the worst defeat on MU in years! And all done away from our Anfield home!!! Simply brilliant!

At this point,I don't quite care if those MU chaps win the premiere league again this year, for as far as I am concerned this season, over two games we beat them red devils twice! So eat humble pie you MU fans. Its been a long time coming!

Adrian Ong, if you happen to read this I hope you can recall your words now...."We are the world champions...., what is there to play for anymore ? We have won everything!" Well my dear nephew the honest and brutal truth is this; there is always plenty to play for! And that IS the truth and nothing but the TRUTH!

The Court of Appeal has allowed the DUN Speaker of Perak to appoint the lawyers of his choice to represent him. Just when I thought the time adhered principle of being represented by lawyers of ones' choice was going to be lost forever , the Court of Appeal has restored my faith in the Judiciary some what. Thank you my Lords.

Which way to go now ? Hmmm........ so confusinglah!

Did you guys happen to watch the All England Badminton finals ? Frankly i didn't! Somehow I just had that hunch that our Datuk LCW was going to choke at the last moment so I didnt bother watching. A friend of mine sent me an sms telling me that he regretted watching the match and that he would have been better off reading a book! Now exactly why am I writing this post you may ask ? Well it appears that our beloved wife of the present DPM and future PM had commented that Malaysia needs more badminton players like Datuk LCW! I tell you what Madam.... that surely had to be a joke. More like Datuk LCW ? Come off it Madam.....what we need are more world beaters and not chokers on the big stage. Sorry I disagree with you Madam. Madam did you not watch the Olympics finals ?

Perak political fiasco - Ahhhh..... nothing to add for now. Just so sick of the the usual mind numbing idiots making their usual mind numbing statements trying to patronise the rakyat.

The police - Do I need to add as to what has already been written ?

Stimulus package _ Look I am no economist and make no apologies for that. Forgive me for asking..... just what is this "stimulus package" ? What is it supposed to do now ? Ah..... I see....make the economy work is it? I thought this referred to something more kinky! Ha-ha!! My two cents worth on this topic is simply this. We can have the best of plans and spend the most amount of money to "stimulate" the failing economy.....but what assurance do we Malaysians have that the money will actually be spent in the way it is supposed to be spent, at least in theory ? Knowing the BN government this "stimulus package" is merely going to create the usual allegations of corruption and the rather routine hullabaloo regarding abuses and more abuses!

Anyway...like I said....What do I know about economics and "stimulus packages" ?

Do tears help in these trying times ?

I think it is time we shed some tears and some for the state of the nation. I read from Malaysiakini that the Police are investigating the Speaker of DUN Perak and the other state assemblymen for having an "illegal" assembly under a rain tree! It matters not as to what the Rakyat thinks about the political fiasco but what matters these days are the thoughts of the police! The police force that stands accused of committing human rights abuses including torture and even murder is now being the "keeper of the peace" for the rakyat in Perak!

Why bother having elections when you can have the police "democratically" help you "win" a state ?

The average Malaysian these days!

I am back. Though I am officially in mourning, I have decided to break my silence to state that there may be hope for us Malaysians after all. Should you not know Tengku Razaleigh has lambasted the BN for its "chain reaction of illegality"! Thank goodness there are still a few good men around. Just when it seemed when all the lap dogs of UMNO i.e MIC, MCA and all the rest were nodding their approval for the illegal acts in Perak, a voice of reason is heard from the din of chaos. Thank you YM Tengku! Your comments are so welcomed in this nations' hour of need.

"Those who so blithely ignore the Constitution for political ends are quite literally wrecking the foundations of this country to further their own interests. This must stop" - Tengku Razaleigh . Well said Sir! I hope your advice will not fall on deaf ears! His comments appear in the Sun newspaper today. Go get a copy and read it.

Mr YB Karpal Singh has also said something very interesting yesterday. He is reported to have said that the Speaker should just ignore the court order issued against him! You know what, I tend to agree with him on this score. The Constitution is very clear on this, in that, the acts done by a state assembly can never be interfered by the courts. The Judicial Commissioner ought to be referred to the House for contempt says the YB. I think I agree with him also on this score. The JC also had acted wrongly when he disallowed the lawyers appointed by the Speaker to represent him. I dare say, surely the rules of natural justice would ensure that all parties are given an equal and fair hearing before meting out "justice" ?

Now why is the MACC probing/questioning the lawyers and the Speaker still ? What nonsense is this ? Scare tactics ? Nothing to do is it ?

I am still hoping that HRH the Sultan of Perak will end the political fiasco in Perak for the sake of the nation. Tuanku please.... The rakyat had suffered enough!

Poor thing...never had a chance!

What else can I say....I feel sad, enraged, upset, angry and disappointed all at once. I cant believe the nation that calls itself the champion of gaza and what not, is capable of committing atrocities here in Bolehland. The world must be laughing at us Malaysians. The world must be thinking what a bunch of morons! The world is suffering as a result of the economic crisis and these buggers are playing "masak-masak"! I am using a lot foul language lately..I know. I must apologise. I just cant stomach the rubbish that is going on. The things these despots will do to remain in power is simply astounding.

FYI the Perak DUN had its emergency meeting under a tree ! Yes.... you heard me right...under a tree. It is confirmed that we Malaysians have successfully invented the time machine. Who needs buildings like the State House/Parliament when we have trees. Maybe next time we will all be encouraged to wear loin cloths and told to swing from tree to tree even!

Absolutely shameful! The police working with the rotten BN monkeys have successfully made Malaysia to be newsworthy around the world for the wrong reasons yet again! Yes.....! we can all beat our chests and thump our tree trunks for we shall be reported on CNN,BBC and maybe even on Mars to record such an eventful day. What an achievement!

It is even sad to note that the learned judge who heard the legal applications by Zambry and gang had informed counsels representing the Speaker, that they are not allowed to represent him. According to the learned Judge only the state legal advisor is capable of representing the Speaker! At times like this I wish I had not learnt/trained in the law. It pains me when I hear reasons like this being pronounced. Maybe the learned judge "forgot" that the state legal adviser is not on the "same page" as the Speaker! So does that mean if the state legal advisor refuses to "represent" the Speaker, then the Speaker will not be represented in court?

The fabric of Democracy in tatters or unravelled ?

I have to declare that I am distressed and absolutely gutted that the state of Perak is in its present mess. The political impasse there is getting to a point where I seriously fear something really bad is about to happen. Why are the political games that are being played continuing to happen at the expense of the rakyat?

It is absolutely shocking to read that the police has now joined in the fray in the political drama that is unfolding in Perak. The police instead of being neutral and impartial now stands accused of lending its weight to the BN party. I am of the opinion that the police has no business in this political drama. By allowing itself to be used by the BN it must be interpreted to mean that the police has lost all sense of decency and impartiality. Putting up barricades to disallow the sitting of the DUN Perak is unconstitutional I dare say. The Speaker had made his ruling and therefore the Secretary of the Dewan has no legal right nor option to overrule the Speaker's ruling. To even bring the Speaker's decision to call for the special sitting to court also tantamount to creating a very bad precedent for the nation. The job and functions of the Speaker from now on will now be open to challenge by anyone and everyone who refuses to abide by the Speaker's rulings. Surely this is inviting chaos ?

Though I was raised in Melaka I must declare that I was born in Perak. My IC has the number 08 clearly declaring that I am a native of that state. I used to be very proud that I was born in the state that has the former Lord President as its Sultan. HRH's judgements have withstood the tests of time in that it is still being quoted and referred to in the courts. I myself have used HRH's judgements on many an occasion before in court. As I am writing this I cant help but feel disappointed that HRH, a man known for his fairness and sound legal reasoning in the past had not taken the best option in resolving the political impasse in Perak . Isn't it obvious that the best solution in all this would be to take matters back to the rakyat ? Isn't it best to call for fresh elections to end the people's misery in not knowing who is in charge of the state ? Isn't it the best option for fresh elections to be called to end this unwanted drama and to let the real task of ensuring that the Rakyat do not suffer much during these uncertain economic times ?

I pray that there will be a peaceful solution to end all this soon. Real soon!

The MIC joke!

This is the MIC today! No other words to describe the shame!

The NST carried the news about the MIED financial fiasco on its front page today. Absolutely shocking and downright disgusting!

It was reported that the MIC boss had called the MIED CEO a thief. Best stay seated for this one guys....the CEO then responds by saying that it takes a bigger thief to recognise one ! ABSOLUTELY SHAMEFUL! The funds in the MIED are said to be missing. Not one or two ringgit my dear friends but rather millions.The police is said to be investigating the fiasco. They are reported to have recorded the usual "statements". Lets just hope the boys in blue are as quick in solving this financial fiasco as they are quick in dousing certain people with water cannons!

The MACC says it is not going to investigate because the police is already investigating. It is reported that the MACC will only get involved if the police hands over the investigations to them. I better keep my views on this matter to myself for now! ......nah, I have to get it off my chest! I think the MACC should just continue its fine work in investigating into video tapes that say "correct, correct correct" and then when it has the time into some missing cows and car expenses!

The sad thing about all this is that, the Indian community are the sad losers in the end. Monies to be used to better the lot of Indians in the country have been squandered. People who had been entrusted with ensuring that the monies are spent responsibly and correctly are now pointing their twisted fingers at one another calling each other thieves!Shocking and absolutely shameful!

Double standards yet again!

Sorry I cant hear! Sorry I cant see! Sorry I cant speak!

The events at the Brickfields police station yesterday illustrates the true meaning of the words "double standards". Funny how if you are from a certain group/race then you are free to roam the streets and shout yourselves hoarse. Never mind the fact that you happen to incite violence or even advocate physical harm to achieve your ambitions. Even when some in this country go lodge police reports numbering more than a hundred against a certain member of Parliament the boys in blue are happy to oblige and record them down.

But if you are aligned to some other group/race then there is this perceived bias in the actions of the boys in blue. Just see what happened to some of the people who wanted to lodge police reports calling for proper medical treatment for ISA detainee Uthayakumar. The crowds reportedly numbering a few hundred were dispersed with water cannons and some were even arrested! If this does not say DOUBLE STANDARDS then I don't know what does.

Those thugs from UMNO youth that accosted and abused Karpal Singh at Parliament are still free to walk the streets. The police have even been accused of not affording Mr Karpal any assistance. Mr Khairy and his gang had demonstrated in Ipoh recently inciting violence but strangely none were arrested nor sprayed with water canons . Then there is that clown i.e the former MB from Selangor . Didn't he and his gang demonstrate and walk the streets of Penang recently ? How many were arrested and charged or even sprayed by water cannons ? Yup you guessed right...NONE! Why ah ? Why ah? Why ah?

Thugs running loose in Parliament!

It is confirmed now. We are officially a lawless nation!

It is most disgusting to read and see the pictures of how some so called "champions of the rakyat" had confronted Mr Karpal Singh at the Parliament lobby. It is just disgusting to note that the sacred grounds of the August house had been used by thugs to intimidate an old man in his wheelchair! You UMNO youth goons should be embarrassed of yourselves! Have you goons lost all sense of shame and decency or is it that you monkeys are incapable of behaving in a decent and civilised manner ?

We can always agree to disagree on many issues and we may even argue our voices hoarse at the appropriate time and more importantly at the appropriate places. What you goons had done at the August house had defiled the very institution that symbolises the hallmark of democracy in this country. What you goons had done is akin to treason to the very notion of upholding the rule of law.

Mr Karpal Singh was even reported to have said that the police and the security personnel present did not afford him any assistance ! Is this true ? Does this mean that the security personnel were tacitly approving the thuggery ? Or were there orders from anywhere to not interfere ? Whatever it is, this latest incident clearly amplifies the urgent need for reforms to this wonderful nation. If this can happen at the lobby of Parliament house, what else may happen in the future ?

Just so sad.

Exasperated!

Aiyoh! Not you fellas too....What's with you guys ?

I am shocked. I thought it was just the boys in blue. Well it appears now that it is contagious. The MACC has gotten into the act now. Just when I thought these chaps would be more cautious and professional after all the advice given by the PM himself.....but nope they just had to do it! They just had to ignore the law.

If you don't know what I am talking about..well it is about the MACC "questioning" the Perak Speaker for THREE HOURS! I dare say this tantamount to gross abuse of the powers vested in the MACC. They shouldn't be questioning the Speaker over his conduct and actions as Speaker of the DUN Perak. Period! That is the law! If the powers that be have their way, I am sure the Speaker will be questioned by Jabatan Bomba next! Who knows...Maybe for failing to ensure there are enough fire extinguishers in the House?

Just compare the news item about the Speaker and compare the report given by the learned Prime Minister regarding the MACC investigations into the VK LIngam tapes. He said there were four investigation papers and three has been listed as "no further action" whilst the last is still being investigated by the MACC! Just in case you had forgotten this issue was raised a very long time now. Even before the general elections! Best part is this......all the mainstream papers had only carried very muted reports on this matter. Arghhhhhh.....

Then there is this news report in "Malaysiakini" where it states that the toll rates on certain highways are going up on Sunday! Oh dear! The Works Minister is reported to have said this"Dalam kenyataannya, Mohd Zin menyifatkan kenaikan kadar tol baru itu sebagai sangat kecil" What ? Sangat kecil ? The economy is going bust, people are losing jobs and prices of everyday goods are continuously rising and this moron says this! Sangat kecil?

You people still want to vote BN ?

Today it is the MACC that is in the news!

We are the MACC and we mean business!

Ha-ha! What a joke! The revamped or re branded ACA is now known as the MACC. The outgoing PM has told the MACC to be professional. Sadly his advice to the chaps at the MACC has gone unheeded. Those chaps are no professionals lah Sir!

I tell you why Sir .... Remember how the MACC responded when that UMNO frog jumped to PR in Perak recently ? What did the MACC do/say then ? They said they will investigate to see if any element of corruption was involved. But what happened next ? Remember how then the "frogs" jumping from PR to the BN ? Guess what ... the MACC then chose to keep quiet. I guess they must have lost their "teeth" or maybe they decided that it is only a possible crime when "frogs " jump from the BN to PR and not vice versa!

If you did not happen to read the "Sun" newspaper today 25-2-09.......go get a copy now. Read how Citizen Nades had taken the MACC to task for their selective prosecutions and general malaise that seem to affect its operations. Read also as to how the questionable expenses of one Minister was reported to the ACA three months ago with supporting documents and no action has been taken to date. Compare this case with the speed in the present Selangor MB's case! Read it and draw your own conclusions. Thank goodness there are good souls like Citizen Nades that keep the good fight going.

I end this post with a quote from the ACA's research and planning Director as quoted by Citizen Nades ." The ACA is not obliged to update complainants on the progress of investigations unless it receives an official letter seeking such information". What a joke!
